New Staff

We want to be able to support all of our players.  Finding a bot or player who is abusing the rules and not being able to report them sucks.  Having GM's available as much as possible is a goal of ours, and to help with this goal we've hired three new staff members.  Check out the staff page for information on each.  Two are general support / event / bot hunting staff, and one is a developer that is going to assist us in coding some brand new, 100% original PvP and Just-For-Fun scripts.Use the suggestion forum to give us some ideas on event scripts you would like to see implemented!

Please note:  The new support staff are only level 20 and have limited powers, but the ability to abuse those powers is always there.  With all new GMs, we try to watch them as close as possible but it can be tough since humans have to sleep sometimes.  Let us know if they abuse their powers in any way.

Stable!

Error reports have, for the most part, totally disappeared.  Follow the install instructions, and make sure to patch in our new client and all shall be well.
With that said, our launch went extremely well!  People are really going for those launch events, and botters are getting their faces kicked in with 30 day bans.  If you don't know already, Rapture exploded out of the gate with an awesome community and is still growing.  Join now and try your hand at one of the launch events, and gear up for our first WoE!  It should be intense :]

Also, expect to see a patch within 2 or so days.  I'll be updating every main town with a Kafra, Warper, Healer and Tool Dealer, as well as moving around save points to make each town a usable base for all of our players.  We also hope to get in all our loading screens and login screens.  You may see the Control Panel skinned as well, if I get around to it by this patch.

Errors?

A lot of people are experiencing one issue or another.  Here are some fixes for a few of the problems:

Game UI Has Korean Buttons: It may be that you are running Korean patchers or something, no idea.  Or maybe you combined your RO with an old RO folder.  Anyways, here is THE way to patch Renewal into English.  This is exactly what I did before uploading the files for players to have English patched Renewal:

1. Download the English patch (courtesy of eAthena) from here.

2. Navigate to INSIDE your texture folder (RO -> Data -> texture) and add the files from the download into the texture folder.

3. Delete rage.mnb from your RO folder.

4. Run the patcher.

Can't Connect To Server (Invalid Username / Password): This is due to files not saving on your computer properly.  If you are running Windows Vista, or Windows 7, please move your RO folder (or whatever it may be called / RagnarokRenewal) onto your desktop.  Run the patcher then, because there are a lot of errors when trying to save into Program Files folders and some others.

Missing Pallettes: This has been fixed already.  Make sure to run your patchers to get the new client.

Exactly 3 minutes.  When your clock hits X:15, we are open.  CP is up, so go register an account.

Almost there!

The Control Panel took forever to upload.  It's almost done, and will be configured immediately.  Once it's finished, register an account.  The patcher is uploaded right now, so run it and get ready.

Launch Events and Guild Recruitment Package Up!

Nah I'm kidding, nothing is wrong.

Anyways, we're ready to release!  Except, the Control Panel isn't up yet.  Part of our Control Panel is the database, which includes thousands of images.  It takes a while to upload, but that's what we are doing right now.  As soon as it's up, you will be able to register.  I'm not 100% on when it will be finished and configured.. so we may want to release early in the morning when everyone can play.

Let's throw up a random release time of maybe... 10:00 AM PST Wednesday?  If it finished uploading early, we can release tonight.  Don't count on it though, because it could be really late at night and I cannot do that at the moment D:

Renewal Client Available (Again)

First, let me apologize if you have already downloaded that massive Renewal Client I had hosted before.  I uploaded the wrong files (yeah I'm a scrub) and it won't work with Rapture.  It even had an alpha testing client and people made accounts and characters on an old, old test server (ahhh funny xD).  But yeah, I'm sorry about that.

The CORRECT files are done uploading.  Check them out on the downloads page.  Please redownload the Renewal Client files and wait for the patcher to be available.  These ones are the correct files for sure.

Also, if you DID have the old Renewal Client files, please don't drag the old client into the new Renewal files.  Just delete your old folder.  The old test server patcher will interfere with the new files.

And The Train Keeps Rolling

A quick update on the status of the server, since that's important in this sort of phase: Things are coming along nicely on the development side. I have to say, the Renewal Client we will be running is a bit new to me, and it's not 100% (a few small things are not translated, and there may be a few small bugs) but I think I got the hang of it. Again, it may be SLIGHTLY buggy, but it is very playable and will be a nice change in the RO community. I have 90% of the client finished. With things moving along this smoothly, we may be able to release a little bit earlier and get a decent amount of play time during the winter break. Chances are, I will release as early as possible, and continue work to finish everything I want to finish (loading screens, login background etc).

Again, take note of my exact words: With things moving along nicely, we may be able to release sooner than Saturday, BUT DO NOT BET ON IT. We may release Saturday as planned (no later) but I am working as hard as I can to get things together as soon as possible. I'll be away Thursday night until Friday mid-day, so if I could shoot for a Tuesday release date I think everyone would be happy. It could be Monday night, Tuesday, Wednesday evening. I'm not 100% sure. Stay sharp and I'll keep everyone updated.

One more thing, and this is a huge fuck up on my part (notice the bad word, because it really upsets me). I released a link for the Renewal files people could download in preparation for the server. I uploaded the wrong files. I'm uploading the new files now and I hope they will be up Monday morning or around lunchtime. You'll have to re-download it. I am sorry about that. The files are 100% good this time though.

Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone is enjoying time with their families and friends.  People keep telling me about how bland the site is, but really it'll come together when I change a few things I've been meaning to change.  Christmas sorta sprung up on me, and I forgot I had a family with all the work I've been doing on Rapture.  Everything came together very nicely :]  and all that's left to do is get my staff situated here on Rapture, finish bug testing the client and server, and we release!

The control panel still isn't up, but it will be on Monday.  Also, for those who do not know:  we will be running on the Renewal Client (not the renewal server, just the client for all the juicy client features).  If you do not have an English patched Renewal Client, I suggest you head over to the downloads page and get it!  There is no client link yet, because I will not be opening up the server until bug testing is complete.  Expect to see the server open January 2nd.  That's our official release date.  We could open sooner, but a lot of people are away with family and have new years plans.
