Deathbed and Hand Grenades

Just an update on some things. School has started for me, but it's not the reason I haven't been in-game much the past couple days. I've gotten sick and I've been spending a lot of time outside to get fresh air and see my friends before they go off to school. To be honest, I feel like shit. I don't usually get sick ever, but no one is superman, haha.Also, there was a hand grenade explosion at my school, which I thought I should mention since it's funny (if you've had a relative die due to hand grenade explosion, I apologize).

Something has come to my attention about our download links on the main site. I've gotten numerous reports of people having to download the file many times to get an uncorrupted version (that's due to faulty hosting or faulty internet connections). Because of this, I'll be contacting Dreamhost to see if I can get a more reliable download server. I'll also try and get a few backups if I can. If anyone would like to host the complete installer, let me know with a forum whisper.

MISTER SIR’s WoE Video

MISTER SIR from Baekdoosan has been working on this WoE video (gathering footage etc) for quite some time now. It's finished, and it really looks great! I enjoyed watching it a lot.  Plus, I think I can say this is the best into to any RO video I've ever seen! I hope others get really pumped for WoE from this and come out to compete! Definitely deserves a spot on the main site.

Memories Update

This update is merely a server side maintenance period. The server will be brought down at 24:00 server time Sunday night, and will be down for about 10 minutes. No client side modifications are required.

Thursday Fun

To spark life back into everyone again, I will be throwing lots of events on Thursday, including some WoE SE testing to get everyone ready for the first SE WoE, which is coming up! (date not yet finalized)! Be online from around 18:00 ~ 22:00 server time to participate in the events.

In other news... all battleground items have been wiped, and we will be only offering one battleground as a testing zone until we get the other zones up and running. We will also be working on anti bot measures to ensure rewards aren't siphoned out of the server.Also, new rules have been added to the rules page under Battlegrounds.

Lastly, I will be releasing info on some more guild towns that are becoming available. They look really sweet and I think everyone will like them. I might release one as a public town

Update Fixes

Turns out most people will need the full client to connect to the new server. Start downloading it if you don't have it already! Some people have got onto the main server with just the patch, but a lot of the new client features are disabled by following that route.

If you got the patch or the full client, and your text is green / you cant see chat in the chat box etc, download this fix. Replace the RaptureRO.exe with the new one in that zip file, and replace those two items into your data folder. DO NOT REPLACE YOUR ENTIRE DATA FOLDER OR YOU WILL WRECK YOUR CLIENT!

Tides of War New Client Download

You can download the new FULL CLIENT right now! This is all you'll ever need to play on RaptureRO forever! If you already have the latest version of Ragray, you can download the Patch instead, which only contains our dyes, the data folder, and the executable to play on Rapture. Head over to the downloads page to pick up one or the other!

Tides of War Progress and Info

I have the Tides of War update basically ready and finished. I'm uploading the client right now, and it should be done by 12 A.M. Midnight.

There is an issue with this however. Once I bring the server down and back up for the update, OLD CLIENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONNECT TO THE NEW SERVER. Downloading the new client is a MUST and it's a big download. This is why I will offer the client download for about 5 days before I bring down the server for the update. During this time, download the client, but continue to use the old client until the server maintenance period which will be on Monday Night, August 23rd.

If you are confused about any of this, don't worry. I'll post more information in the Tides of War post on the forums shortly. Look forward to the update! Check back here for the download link around Midnight PST.

Future Updates

Well, I've added the Private Guild Inns to the warper, but you'll need a password to access them. Until you buy one for your guild, all you can see is their names, and the available screenshots on the forums. Aside from that work I've been doing, I'm also working on some other stuff. After some good player suggestions, I've decided to pursue a good way to implement Battlegrounds without causing lots of multiclienting to farm the items. I expect it will be done within the next few weeks. We are also continually refining the Shine system. Some changes are good, and some are bad, but I feel like we will eventually get to a good place with it.

I'm also going to be updating the client and server files with more Renewal updates. We are getting some pretty cool features that only 2~3 other servers have, so we'll be ahead of the game client wise

Remember to write a review for the server if you haven't already, and invite your friends to play!

Guild Revamp!

We have a few new features that pertain to Guilds, so listen up! General patch notes as well:

• WoE times have been updated. If you are unfamiliar with the new times, check them out now! Expect a much higher population online for WoE.
• WoE will now have two castles open during each day. Competition should be even fiercer! We will be using Kriemhild / Swanhild for Friday, and Skoegul / Gondul for Saturday.
• WoE chests now drop buff foods.
• Private guild towns are now available for rent. This is a feature that I am very excited about. You can rent an inn for your guild by whispering me on the forums. I will be writing up an informational post on the forums soon, so stay tunes for that!
• Soul Link now gets dispelled when entering PvP.
• @whosell command has been added for the players. Use it to find items quickly among the mass number of shops in Prontera, and wherever else in the world.
• The Shine in PvP now spawn in quantities of 5, and use skills such as Heal, Parry, Safety Wall, Reflect Shield and Shrink.
• A new lower headgear quest has been implemented. It's going to be tough to find, and tough to complete, but the rewards are worth it! Expect guides on it when people discover and complete it.
